The Healing Energy of Yellow

Google

Yellow Page-Yogs Sun Radiating the energy of the sun, Yellow evokes clarity and awareness while stimulating mental energy and generating muscular power. For this reason we've included Yoga and Tai Chi in this section, both of which I practice regularly. Let's begin with Yoga.

I began practicing Yoga about 3 years ago and am so happy I did! Initially I held an unfortunately chauvinistic attitude towards this art, considering it to be "girly" or for flakes. perhaps I was a bit "yellow" myself! My apologies to all who practice this fine art, I've since matured. I got seriously interested in Yoga after seeing an interview with Sting (of Police fame for those that don't know). He exuded an energy that I found attractive, and there was definitely nothing girlish about him.

Upon beginning my practice I found that Yoga could be quite strenuous and have found it incredibly effective in developing strength and flexibility while increasing my energy a hundredfold. Yoga is not for wimps or flakes or "girly" and brings about great benefits. That doesn't mean it's not suitable for those who aren't athletically inclined. I was so out of shape when I began, however a responsible teacher will encourage you to progress at your own pace. You'll find that practicing Yoga is much more than contorting your body into impossible positions, in fact in the beginning you needn't worry about this at all. Gentle stretching is encouraged, and soon you'll find your flexibility and energy increasing in leaps and bounds.

A clearer mind, self confidence, increased strength and stamina, a sense of calmness and balance, an invigorated zest for life are also gained through regular practice, and quite quickly. If you're motivated by fast results then Yoga is for you. In the Yellow pages I share with you some of the daily routines I use in my practice of yoga. A mere 10 minutes in the morning can be beneficial, although I enjoy it so much I now practice it twice a day, combining Yoga and quiet meditation in the evenings.

I've also included brief outlines of the five major traditional types of Yoga as well as some that have evolved in more recent times, however any style is beneficial. Find the one that best suits you personally. I practice exercises from several different styles, it's more the actual exercise than the style which appeals to me.

The programs included in these Yellow pages are suitable for beginners, however like any exercise program, please consult your physician before attempting any of the routines I've included on these pages. Hopefully he will give you the thumbs up! Embrace, enjoy and energize with Yoga and Yellow!

Description of the different types of Yoga and the application and benefits of them.

"Prana" is developed through the "Science of Breathing". Find out how proper breathing, not just during Yoga practice, but in general, can help you to develop Prana, a life giving energy.

Prana and The Science of Breathing

Western scientific theories regarding the breath confine themselves to the effects of the absorption of oxygen, and its use through the circulatory system, while the Yogi theory also takes into consideration the absorption of Prana, and its manifestation through the channels of the Nervous System.

The Nervous System and Its Relation to Prana and The Science of Breathing

One of the first lessons in the Yogi Science of Breath, is to learn how to breathe through the nostrils, and to overcome the common practice of mouth breathing.
