Download Music From Bermuda
I never dreamed one day people would be able to download music I had written from their computer!
For 20 years I worked as a singer/songwriter in Bermuda. I first began singing and playing guitar when I was 22. I come from a very musical family where every other male plays the guitar. My grandmother was one of 11 children, 4 were boys, and all of them plus her father played or still plays the guitar. I also have an uncle and several cousins who also play the guitar, and we always have some sort of a band playing at our family gatherings.
So I guess it's no suprise that I became enamored with music and took up the guitar myself.
I learned to play well enough to become a professional within 2 years and went to work as a solo entertainer on the Tour Boat circuit in Bermuda. I didn't have any problem with stage fright as I initially took up a microphone as a commentator on Glass Bottomed Boats when I was 12, working during my summer holidays.
I soon began performing with various bands in Bermuda both on the Pub and Convention circuits and enjoyed a very successful career there.
I began writing songs almost immediately after learning to play. I was strumming away one day when the lyrics and melody came to me and they have ever since.
My songwriting is greatly influenced by both Calypso and Country music. My father was a huge fan of both, as are many people in Bermuda, and the sounds of The Merrymen mingled in my house with Wille Nelson and Waylon Jennings.
The songs featured on this page are a collection of those which I have been fortunate enough to be able to record independently over the years and are all available as downloadable mp3 files for 60 cents each. Some are with the band "Big Tree" with whom I played and sang during the 80's, but the majority are as my alter ego and Calypso handle (stage name) "Lazy Boy". You can listen to a sample of any song before downloading it.
I hope you enjoy my songs and if you have any questions or problems please contact me via the contact form at the bottom of this page.
